OHM Teacher

Fernice

ernice first discovered yoga during her university days. It began as a way to stay active and maintain her health since she found other forms of exercise too challenging. In 2018, she completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate with Nithya Priyan School of Yoga and has been teaching ever since.

Fernice’s classes blend Hatha and Vinyasa styles, with a strong emphasis on alignment and breath work. She takes pleasure in teaching (and practicing!) dynamic flows, along with creating fun and creative sequences that challenge both the body and mind. Known for her attention to detail, she has the ability to make yoga accessible to beginners while providing a challenge for practitioners seeking a good sweat or wanting to push themselves further. In every class, she believes there is a focal point and a tipping point on the mat. Each pose executed and sequence curated aims to help individuals find their balance while seeking the edge that challenges them.

To Fernice, yoga is about reconnecting with the Self, letting go of ego, and embracing both strengths and weaknesses. With this belief, she hopes to assist her students in discovering the purpose of yoga, cultivating true mindfulness, and gaining greater clarity both on and off the mat.
